Sun Opposite Uranus

With Uranus opposing the Sun the native meets their own unpredictability in other people first, attracting disruptors and defectors until they admit how much of the arrangement they wanted.

The upheaval is always somebody else's doing, at least in the early account. A partner leaves without warning. A friend turns out to be a maverick who cannot be relied on. A business associate does something extraordinary at the worst possible moment. The native gives a coherent and largely accurate history of these events, and the only detail consistently omitted is how carefully they selected each participant. Uranus at the far end of the axis has to be met in the flesh before it can be claimed.

Relationships carry most of the load. The native is drawn to people who are unavailable, foreign, much younger or much stranger than the family would like, and finds the settled and dependable curiously suffocating. Marriages under this opposition either accommodate a great deal of separateness or end abruptly. In working life the same axis produces sudden reversals of position, and the native who has been the conservative voice for a decade astonishes everyone by becoming the radical one.

Holding both ends is the whole task, and it is harder than it sounds because each end mocks the other. The native wants a stable identity and an open door, and any settlement that abandons one will be sabotaged within a few years. What works is designing a life with the exit built in: work that changes shape, a marriage with genuine independence in it, obligations that are chosen and renewed rather than assumed. Those who manage this become unusually tolerant of other people's eccentricity, having finally located their own.
