The pattern announces itself in the company kept. There is an addict, or an artist who cannot manage money, or a beautiful person with no plans, and the native is the practical one who holds it together and is faintly proud of doing so. The story is always that they were taken in. What is harder to see is that the arrangement suits something, because it places all the formlessness safely outside and lets the native be definite by comparison. That trade cannot hold indefinitely.
Deception is a recurring theme and rarely as simple as it looks. Partners turn out to have another life, business associates prove not to have the funds, and in the reconstruction afterwards it emerges that the evidence was visible and was not examined. The native does not want to know things that would require action. Health can be affected by the same vagueness: symptoms are ignored, appointments postponed, and diagnosis in this contact often comes later than it should have.
Resolution is not the extraction of a stronger self from a weaker one. It comes when the native accepts that the longing for release, for something larger, for the dissolving of their own outline, is theirs and needs an honest channel. Given one, in art, contemplation or genuine service, the compulsion to keep meeting it in unreliable people falls away. Those who reach this point are exceptionally good with the lost, because they no longer need anybody to stay lost on their behalf.
