The trine pays properly when it is put under obligation. In psychotherapy, palliative care, police work or any trade that requires sitting still while somebody comes apart, it becomes a professional asset of the first order, and the discipline of the trade supplies the structure the aspect does not. Absent that, it can settle into a mild fatalism: an assumption that things will be endured because things always have been, which is true and which prevents nothing.
